Energy, cell phones and Panama Canal
expansion are some of the projects of the
multimillionaire Mr. Carlos Slim are interested.
Carlos Slim, president of Ideal Company, has identified
business opportunities for the next two years that would
approximately 16 billions dollars investment distributed
in 57 projects, by which 45% would be in Panama,
according Mexico Bank.
Throughout Cicsa Panama, one of Ideal's subsidiaries,
Slim got the adjudication of the hydroelectric projects
Bajo Mina y Baitun, in Chiriquí. Also, last week he got
Cilsa Panama-Miner. Beside that, his company
participates for the licitation of Panama Canal
Authority for the expansion project first phase of
excavation, however he did not get it. Slim also has
serious interest in the cell phone business in Panama.
